Accepted 10 May 2012Synchrotron microanalysis techniques applied to potential photovoltaic materials
J. Villanova, J. Seguraz-Ruiz, T. Lafford and G. Martinez-Criado
Synopsis: Synchrotron microanalytical techniques such as X-ray fluorescence, X-ray beam induced current and X-ray excited optical luminescence are applied to two potential photovoltaic-related semiconductors: multicrystalline Si and single-crystal GaAs.
Accepted 9 May 2012Dual-detector X-ray fluorescence imaging of ancient artifacts with surface relief
D. M. Smilgies, J. A. Powers, D. H. Bilderback and R. E. Thorne
Accepted 7 May 2012Preventing carbon contamination of optical devices for X-rays: the effect of oxygen on photon-induced dissociation of CO on platinum
P. Risterucci, G. Held, A. Bendounan, M. G. Silly, C. Chauvet, D. Pierucci, N. Beaulieu and F. Sirotti
Synopsis: A time-dependent photoelectron spectroscopy study of the chemical reactions which take place at Pt(111) surfaces is presented. It is shown that the carbon contamination layer growth can be stopped and reversed by low partial pressures of oxygen for optics operated in intense photon beams at liquid-nitrogen temperature.
Accepted 25 April 2012An X-ray diffraction study on a single rod outer segment from frog retina
N. Yagi, T. Matsuo and N. Ohta
Synopsis: X-ray diffraction was recorded from retinal rod outer segments of frog using a microbeam.
Accepted 24 April 2012Local structural studies of the cubic Cd1-xCaxO system through Cd K-edge extended X-ray absorption spectroscopic studies
V. Srihari, V. Sridharan, M. Nomura, V. S. Sastry and C. S. Sundar
Accepted 29 March 2012SUMS: synchronous undulator-monochromator scans at Synchrotron Soleil
M. Izquierdo, V. Hardion, G. Renaud, L. Chapuis, R. Millet, F. Langlois,, F. Marteau and C. Chauvet
Synopsis: The synchronous undulator-monochromator scans (SUMS) strategy developed at Synchrotron Soleil for performing X-ray absorption experiments at insertion-device beamlines is described.
Accepted 23 March 2012Hybrid materials with an increased resistance to hard X-rays using fullerenes as radical sponges
