Binary systems with MoSi₂-type compounds occur on two straight lines on the ( $[\Delta\varphi]$ , $[\Delta{N}^{1/3}]$ ) map. AlCr₂, AlTc₂ and MoU₂ (black open circles) are exceptions. A is the minority element. Blue squares represent compounds with $[\Delta\varphi]$ = $[{\varphi}_{A}]$ - $[{\varphi}_{B}]$ positive and red open circles represent compounds with $[\Delta\varphi]$ = $[{\varphi}_{A}]$ - $[{\varphi}_{B}]$ negative.
