Synopsis: PbSe2O5 forms a three-dimensional network with each diselenite ion bridging five Pb ions and with five diselenite ions grouped around each Pb ion. The coordination around Pb comprises six O atoms forming a dented one-sided octahedron with 2 + 2 O atoms near Pb but with longer Pb-O distances.
