Synopsis: LiMoP2O7 is isotypic with LiVP2O7 and LiFeP2O7. The structure is built up from MoP2O11 units, each of which comprises an MoO6 octahedron sharing corners with a bidentate P2O7 group. The MoP2O11 units share all corners to form a framework and the Li+ ions are located within the tunnels in this framework.
