The structure of Ba6V4O5S11 contains isolated VS43−, VOS33− and VO2S23− tetrahedra separated by nine- and ten-coordinate Ba2+ ions.

K2WSe4 has a structure based on isolated slightly distorted WSe4 tetrahedra joined via K+ ions. The compound is isotypic with the previously reported Rb and Cs analogues and crystallizes in the β-K2SO4 structure type.
