(R)-Di-[bold mu]-acetato-[bold kappa]2O:O'-bis{[2-(1-aminoethyl)phenyl-[bold kappa]2C1,N]palladium(II)}, (R)-di-[bold mu]-chloro-bis{[2-(1-aminoethyl)phenyl-[bold kappa]2C1,N]palladium(II)} and [SP-4-4]-(R)-[2-(1-aminoethyl)phenyl-[bold kappa]2C1,N]chloro(pyridine-[bold kappa]N)palladium(II)

Abstract: The title complexes, [Pd2(C8H10N)2(C2H3O2)2], (I), [Pd2(C8H10N)2Cl2], (II), and [Pd(C8H10N)Cl(C5H5N)], (III), respectively, have been prepared as intermediates and the final product of a cyclopalladation reaction sequence, and their structures studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complexes (I) and (II) represent the first structurally characterized dinuclear cyclopalladation products of primary amines. For (I) and (III), pseudosymmetry relates two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit.

Formula: [Pd2(C8H10N)2(C2H3O2)2], [Pd2(C8H10N)2Cl2] and [Pd(C8H10N)Cl(C5H5N)]
