Synopsis: The Rb analogue of grimselite is based on isolated uranyl tricarbonate clusters, [(UO₂)(CO₃)₃], linked through corner sharing to RbO₁₀ and NaO₈ polyhedra. The title compound is isostructural with grimselite, with a reduced occupancy of the H₂O site (25% versus 50% in grimselite).

A new crystal phase of barium nitroprusside trihydrate studied by neutron diffraction at 20 K

Synopsis: The crystal structure of barium pentacyanonitrosylferrate trihydrate, in space group P1, is completely ordered. The study was performed to characterize the structural phase generated by the phase transition undergone by the crystals at 80 K, at which temperature the unit-cell volume doubles. The positional changes of the water molecules with respect to those of the compound at 105 K are presented.

Synopsis: RbCr^III(C₂O₄)₂·2H₂O and Cs₂Mg(C₂O₄)₂·4H₂O represent two novel structure types among double-metal oxalate hydrates. Rb₂Cu^II(C₂O₄)₂·2H₂O is isotypic with K₂- and (NH₄)₂Cu^II(C₂O₄)₂·2H₂O. All three compounds have layered structures. The Cr, Mg and Cu atoms are six-, six- and (4 + 2)-coordinated, respectively.
