Synopsis: Rb2Mo2O7 and Cs2Mo2O7 represent new structure types with infinite chains of linked MoO4 tetrahedra and MoO6 octahedra. The chains in Cs2Mo2O7 resemble those in the Na2Mo2O7 structure. The orthorhombic pseudosymmetry of Cs2Mo2O7 implies a possible high-temperature transition P21/c
Pbca.
