The [VOPO4] layers in the Pb2VO(PO4)2 structure result in unusual magnetic properties. The layers are oriented in opposite directions in a chessboard fashion. VO5 square pyramids are connected by tetrahedral PO4 groups. The layers are separated by Pb atoms and isolated PO4 tetrahedra.
