The - and -epoxides of 3-acetoxy-5-lanost-9(11)-en-7-one

Abstract: The structures of 3 [beta] -acetoxy-9 [alpha] ,11 [alpha] -epoxy-5 [alpha] -lanost-9(11)-en-7-one and 3 [beta] -acetoxy-9 [beta] ,11 [beta] -epoxy-5 [alpha] -lanost-9(11)-en-7-one, C₃₂H₅₂O₄, differ in their respective substituted cyclohexanone rings but adopt similar conformations in the other three rings. In both of the crystal structures, weak intermolecular C-HO interactions are present.
