Abstract: In 2,2,2-trichloro-N,N'-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)ethane-1,1-diamine, C₁₆H₁₇Cl₃N₂O₂, molecules are linked into helical chains by N-HO hydrogen bonds. Molecules of 2,2,2-trichloro-N,N'-bis(4-chlorophenyl)ethane-1,1-diamine, C₁₄H₁₁Cl₅N₂, are connected into a three-dimensional framework by two independent ClCl interactions and one C-HCl hydrogen bond.
