Abstract: An acidic phospholipase A2 exhibiting cardiotoxicity, myotoxicity and anti-platelet activity was isolated from Ophiophagus hannah (king cobra) from Guangxi, China. It contains an unusual `pancreatic loop'. The enzyme was purified to homogeneity and crystallized using polyethylene glycol and ethylene glycol as precipitants. The crystal belongs to space group C2, with unit-cell parameters a = 117.92, b = 62.94, c = 57.16 Å,
= 100.93°. Diffraction data were collected to 2.6 Å.
