Plot of σA versus resolution for the p97VCP–ADP·AlFx diffraction data (DeLaBarre & Brunger, 2005  ). The cross-validated σA value is plotted versus resolution. The subset of the diffraction data used for the calculation of the free R value was used for computation of σA. The continuous line was obtained by linear fit to the diffraction data and the arrow at 4.4 Å indicates the resolution at which σA drops sharply from its previous value. This was taken as the effective limit of the diffraction data useful for structure refinement. |
