These papers provide rapid reporting of structural genomics research. Structural genomics papers should be prepared according to the Notes for Authors of Acta Crystallographica Section D.
Detailed editorial policies for the publication of these papers are currently under development under the guidance of Mitchell Guss (Chair of the IUCr Commission on Biological Macromolecules). The points raised by the NIH/Wellcome Task Force on Mechanisms for Publication and Recording of Methods and Results are being considered.
The papers are available through the IUCr's Crystallography Journals Online initiative (see http://journals.iucr.org/). It is expected that the publication route for short structural papers will be wholly electronic with respect to submission, validation, refereeing and publication.
