Abstract: The phthalate salt of diprotonated diethylenetriamine, C₄H₁₅N₃⁺·C₈H₄O₄^-, was obtained during ongoing studies of the hydrolytic chemistry of phthalimides for the synthesis of efficient sensitizers for Eu^III and Tb^III photoluminescence.
