4-oxalato]Abstract: The crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(C2O4)(C10H8N2)]n, is reported. The CuII atom is six-coordinated with distorted octahedral geometry and the bipyridine ligand acts as a chelating ligand. The oxalate anion bridges the metal ions forming infinite chains.
