1,3-Diphenyl-1-o-tolyl-3,4-dimethylindan

Abstract: The title compound, C₃₀H₂₈, was prepared by tris-(2,4-dibromophenyl)aminium hexachloroantimonate-induced cyclodimerization of 1-o-tolyl-1-phenylethylene in 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoropropan-2-ol. The X-ray analysis of the only product of the reaction confirms that it is the cis isomer.
