Abstract: The crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(NO3)(C10H9N3)2]NO3, consists of mononuclear cations and uncoordinated nitrate anions held together by means of an extensive three-dimensional network of N-H
O and C-H
O hydrogen bonds. The CoII centre has a distorted octahedral geometry, coordinated with two O atoms of a bidentate nitrate ligand and with four pyridine N atoms of two bis(2-pyridyl)amine ligands in a trans-trans mode.
