Abstract: The crystal structure determination of one of the substituted
-chromene components isolated in the hexane extraction of the fruit of the indigenous Australian tree Melicope ellyrana, the methyl ether of the known compound alloevodionol, is reported. In this compound, 1-(5,7-dimethoxy-2,2-dimethyl-2H-1-benzopyran-8-yl)ethanone, C15H18O4, the methoxy groups are approximately coplanar with the aromatic ring, while the acetyl group is normal to the ring.
