Abstract: The title compound, N-(2,2,2-trichloro-1-hydroxyethoxy)piperidine, C7H12Cl3NO2, contains a six-membered piperidine ring with a chair conformation. The triclinic unit cell contains two independent pairs of molecules, with the molecules in each pair linked about centres of symmetry by O-H...N hydrogen bonds.
