1,4-Benzenedimethanol

Abstract: The title compound, p-phenylenedimethanol, C₈H₁₀O₂, crystallizes in the space group P2₁/n and forms extensive supramolecular sheets parallel to (001) via O-HO hydrogen bonds. Sheets stack along the c axis via weak C-HO interactions. The molecule has no crystallographic symmetry.
