Diethylammonium heptabromidedicadmium(II)

R. D. Willett and B. Twamley

Abstract: The trigonal compound, (Et2NH2)3[Cd2Br7], contains CdII species with both tetrahedral and octahedral coordination. The [CdBr4]2- species exist as isolated anions, stabilized by hydrogen bonding from the diethylammonium cations. The octahedral species share faces, forming [CdBr3]_n^{n-} chains parallel to the trigonal axis.
