S. Picard, P. Gougeon and M. Potel

Abstract: K2Mo15S19 (potassium molybdenum sulfide) crystallizes in the trigonal space group R\overline 3c and belongs to the In2Mo15Se19 structure type. Its crystal structure consists of an equal mixture of Mo6S8 and Mo9S11 cluster units interconnected through Mo-S bonds. The K+ cations occupy large voids between the different cluster units.
