Abstract: The title compound, [Sn₂(C₆H₅)₆(BHO₃)]·C₇H₈ or (Ph₃SnO)₂B(OH)·C₇H₈, is an unexpected diester produced during an attempted recrystallization of (Ph₃Sn)₃B₃O₃. A planar central B atom is coordinated to two Ph₃Sn groups through ester linkages, and to a hydroxide group.
