DL-Valinium nitrate

Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C₅H₁₂NO₂⁺·NO₃^-, consists of four valinium cations and four nitrate anions. The valinium residues are related to one another by pseudo-twofold symmetry and pseudo-translation. The nitrate anions are related by a pseudo-c-glide and pseudo-translation. The crystal structure is stabilized by N-HO and O-HO hydrogen bonds.
