A tetra-tert-butylcalix[4]arene-12-crown-4 N,N-dimethylformamide inclusion complex

Abstract: The crown ether portion of the title complex, C₅₀H₆₆O₆·C₃H₇NO, is not pre-organized for metal binding to the four calix[4]arene O atoms. N,N-Dimethylformamide forms a hydrogen-bond bridge between two calix[4]arene-crown molecules.
