N-(2-Aminoethyl)dithiocarbamic acid

Abstract: The title compound, C₃H₈N₂S₂, exists as a zwitterion, H₃N⁺(CH₂)₂NHCS₂^-. The lengths of the two C-S bonds in the planar NCS₂ dithiocarbamate group are essentially equal, which suggests that these bonds have almost equal double-bond character. Four N-HS interactions link the molecules in the crystal into an infinite three-dimensional network.
