Abstract: The title compound, C₉H₁₁ISe, displays the following dimensions involving selenium: Se-I 2.5360 (11) Å, Se-C1 1.923 (6) Å and C-Se-I 100.2 (2)°. Short SeI and II contacts link the molecules into ribbons parallel to the b axis.
