Benzophenone iminium tetrafluoroborate

Abstract: The reaction of benzophenone imine with an excess of tetrafluoroboric acid in dichloromethane yielded the title compound, C₁₃H₁₂N⁺·BF₄^-. The cation is non-planar and the crystal structure is stabilized by N-HF and C-HF short contacts.
