Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni(C₄H₁₃N₃)(C₆H₈N₃O₂)]I·H₂O, comprises a six-coordinated Ni(II) complex cation, an I^- anion, and one water molecule of crystallization. Intermolecular hydrogen bonds link the complex cations into extended two-dimensional layers.
