2-(3,4-Dihydroxyphenyl)ethylammonium 3,5-dinitrobenzoate

Abstract: In the crystal structure of the title salt, C₈H₁₂NO₂⁺·C₇H₃N₂O₆^-, the dihydroxy moiety of the cation is connected to the nitro and carboxylate O atoms of the anion via hydrogen bonds, forming a planar two-component assembly of the aromatic rings. Furthermore, the assemblies are linked into a three-dimensional network by N-HO hydrogen bonds.
