Abstract: In the crystal structure of the title salt, C8H12NO2+·C7H3N2O6-, the dihydroxy moiety of the cation is connected to the nitro and carboxylate O atoms of the anion via hydrogen bonds, forming a planar two-component assembly of the aromatic rings. Furthermore, the assemblies are linked into a three-dimensional network by N-H
O hydrogen bonds.
