N,N'-Bis[1-(4-pyridyl)ethylidene]-p-phenylenediamine

Abstract: The title compound, C₂₀H₁₈N₄, is a 4,4'-bipyridyl-type ligand with a long spacer moiety between the two pyridyl functions. Its low-temperature single-crystal analysis reveals that it lies on an inversion center, which is at the center of the 1,4-disubstituted benzene ring.
