Abstract: In the crystal structure of the title compound, cinnamoyl dimethyldopamine, C19H21NO3, the shortest distance between the centers of the C=C double bonds in neighboring cinnamoyl moieties is 5.483 (4) Å. Such a long center-to-center distance and the criss-crossed arrangement of the C=C bond axes, with a torsion angle of 83.8 (2)°, contribute to the photostability of the title compound in the solid state.
