2-(2,4-Dichlorophenylmethylene)-1-tetralone

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₇H₁₂Cl₂O, has a cyclohexenone ring in the half-chair conformation. The aryl ring in the side chain attached to the tetralone ring is twisted out of the plane of the ,-unsaturated ketone plane as a result of non-bonded interactions.
