Abstract: The title compound, [Ni(C4H10N5)2], was prepared from an aqueous KOH solution. The coordination geometry around the Ni atom is planar, with the central metal bonded to four ligand N atoms in two bidentate ligands. The deprotonation of the ligand causes an increase of the
-conjugation in the C-N-C system, reducing the bond angle at the N atom to 118.46 (16)°.
