Abstract: The cations of the title complex, [H-{2,6-(meth)₂py}]₂[FeCl₄][BF₄] or (C₁₃H₁₄N₅S₂)₂[FeCl₄]BF₄, form dimers of protonated 2,6-bis(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-2-ylsulfanyl)pyridine molecules, which are held together by moderate N-HN hydrogen bonds.
