1,4-Bis(benzimidazol-2-yl)butane

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₈H₁₈N₄, lies on an inversion center. The benzimidazolyl moiety is essentially planar. Intermolecular N-HN hydrogen bonds give rise to an infinite helical chain structure, with the chains stacked by C-H and interactions.
