Abstract: The crystal structure of the title compound, [Mn(C5H7O2)(C12H8N2)2](ClO4), contains a monomeric [Mn(phen)2(acac)]+ cation and a perchlorate anion [phen is 1,10'-phenanthroline (C12H8N2) and acac is acetylacetonate (C5H7O2)]. The MnII ion is coordinated by four N atoms from the phen ligands [Mn-N 2.253 (4)-2.322 (4) Å] and two O atoms of the acac ligand [Mn-O 2.116 (3) and 2.124 (3) Å] in chelating mode, forming a distorted octahedral geometry.
