Abstract: The title compound, [Li₈(C₁₂H₂₇O₃SSi)₆(OH)₂(H₂O)₂]·2C₇H₈, has been obtained by reaction of (^tBuO)₃SiSH with metallic lithium. The molecule is located on a centre of inversion. The asymmetric unit contains only half a molecule and one disordered toluene molecule.
