Hexaaquazinc(II) dihydrogen-1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylate

Y.-Q. Sun, J. Zhang and G.-Y. Yang

Abstract: The crystal structure of the title compound, [Zn(H2O)6][C10H4O8], features a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network linking octahedral hexaaquazinc(II) dications, occupying special positions on twofold axes, and dihydrogen-1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylate dianions located on crystallographic inversion centres. There are also intramolecular hydrogen bonds between adjacent carboxyl groups in the dianions.
