Abstract: The title compound, C₁₇H₁₈O₃, was prepared from the Wittig-Horner reaction of 3,5-dimethoxybenzyldehyde and dimethyl(4-methoxybenzyl)phosphite. There are two molecules in the asymmetric unit, with different conformations.
