(-Benzenethiolato)bis[(bipyridine)tricarbonylrhodium(I)] perchlorate dichloromethane hemisolvate

Abstract: The title binuclear Re^I-thiolate complex, [Re₂(C₆H₅S)(C₁₀H₈N₂)₂(CO)₆]ClO₄·0.5CH₂Cl₂, was isolated from the reaction between [Re(bpy)(CO)₃](SC₆H₅) and [Cu₂(₂-dppm)₂(MeCN)₄](ClO₄)₂ (bpy is bipyridine and dppm is diphenylphosphinomethane). The two rhenium-diimine moieties are bridged by one S-donor and each Re atom adopts a distorted octahedral geometry.
