Abstract: Rubidium aluminium borate, Rb2Al2B2O7, is characterized by an association of AlO4 tetrahedra and BO3 triangles which form a complete three-dimensional aluminium borate framework. Rb+ cations occupy eight- and nine-coordinate positions within the three-dimensional channel system created by the framework.
