Abstract: A novel sulfonamide containing a boronate ester group, namely N-[3-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)phenyl]-N-(2,4,6-trimethylbenzyl)-p-toluenesulfonamide,C29H36BNO4S, crystallizes with two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. The Lewis-acid B atom is in a trigonal-planar environment and is not involved in inter- or secondary intramolecular interactions.
