Abstract: The new polyoxomolybdovanadate, hexapotassium hexamolybdodivanadate tetrahydrate, K6[Mo6V2O26]·4H2O, has been isolated from a solution of potassium molybdate and ammonium vanadate. The polyoxoanion, with crystallographically imposed 2/m symmetry, is built up of six MoO6 and two VO6 edge-sharing distorted octahedra.
