1-(6-Methylpyridin-2-yl)-2-phenylethanedione

Abstract: The phenyl and pyridyl rings of the title compound, C₁₄H₁₁NO₂, are nearly perpendicular to each other, with a dihedral angle of 86.1 (1)°. In the crystal, the molecules exist as centrosymmetrically hydrogen-bonded C-HO dimers and the molecular packing is stabilized by C-H and interactions.
