Abstract: The title complex, (ⁿBu₄N)⁺[(HCPz₃)Ce(NO₃)₄]^- or (C₁₆H₃₆N)[Ce(NO₃)₄(C₁₀H₁₀N₆)], which is the first lanthanide(III) complex of tris(pyrazolyl)methane (HCPz₃), is 11-coordinate. The Ce-O and Ce-N bond lengths are in the ranges 2.514  (3)-2.685  (3) and 2.686  (4)-2.761  (4)  Å, respectively.
