--Stacking and nitro--stacking interactions of 1-(4-nitrophenyl)-4-phenyl-2,4-bis(phenylethynyl)butadiene

Abstract: The first observed side product, C₃₂H₂₁NO₂, in the Sonogashira coupling reaction is reported. The molecular packing shows a high degree of -stacking interactions in the solid state.
