Abstract: The title compound, C31H48O3, was obtained by methylation of 3-oxoolean-12-en-20-[alpha]-oic acid, isolated from the root bark of Austroplenckia populnea (Celastraceae). Rings A, B, D and E are in chair conformations and ring C is in an envelope conformation.
