Abstract: The title compound, C₃₁H₄₈O₃, was obtained by methylation of 3-oxoolean-12-en-20--oic acid, isolated from the root bark of Austroplenckia populnea (Celastraceae). Rings A, B, D and E are in chair conformations and ring C is in an envelope conformation.
