6(S)-Methyl-3(S)-(1-methylethyl)piperazin-2-one

Abstract: The identity of the title piperazinone, C₈H₁₆N₂O, obtained by an unusual deoxygenation reaction, has been confirmed by its crystal structure. We describe the conformation of this template used to mimic conformationally flexible peptides and lipids and compare it to related piperazinones.
